On the way to Charmed Cottage, our intrepid band of 3 cousins followed the trail of our coal miner grandfather through 4 states. We too arrived at the cottage after dark in “Mario Andretti” fashion thanks to our cousin Ron who was tired & just wanted to get here. Your cottage is a true haven and was a great place to just relax and hang out. Thank you for creating such a beautiful space! Like everyone else, we enjoyed the hot tub at night with a glass of wine and a truly spectacular night sky. We’re city folk and never knew there were this many stars! Thanks!

What a wonderful 60th birthday surprise! Great friends and great fun@ 5 friends – 2 fromRaleigh, 2 from Greenville and 1 from Chicago. The ride up to the cabin was a hoot. Well we filled our quota of “3 X a day” for the hot tub! We only had to go into Asheville once and we had a great dinner at The Admiral in West Asheville. The drive into Asheville was an easy 30 minutes and the 15 minute ride to the grocery store was close enough to go for wine refills. The downstairs shower was great and even better when I opened the port hole – I felt like I was showering outdoors! All-in-all a great trip with great friends and good food.

Charmed Cottage is beautiful, comfortable, elegant and extremely well equipped. We would have extended our stay if possible! However, we can see why your cottage is in high demand. This is the third stop in our 10 day honeymoon, and it has spoiled us for all else! We enjoyed the views and the hot tub. We rode the harley in many of the lovely, winding roads. So much to do and so little time. We hope to come back someday. Tranquil and serene. Just what we needed!

A beautiful oasis in the mountains – so much more than envisioned from chats/website. Spent our days here mostly enjoying the scenery and beauty of the area – people, food, nature. Your cottage was everything and more as promised! After laughing our butts off coming up the “hill” it was a welcome sight to see our cottage. This was our annual “grandma’s gone wild” weekend. The hot tub at night when the sun was going down was wonderful. What a nice relaxing time. This city of Ashevillewas a fun night and the Biltmore was great. The fall foliage is just turning and when the sun finally broke through, the mountain side was beautiful! We enjoyed visiting Ashevilleand Biltmore Estate. I had both my daughters in our bed downstairs “making lights” in the sheets! We didn’t brave the hot tub, maybe next time!

Arrived at 5 PM after an interesting and picturesque trip past Lake Lure. The trip up the hill was definitely a new experience with the rain and leaves. Saturday night was spent believing it was exactly the right trip to make to the right place. More to follow…
25 Oct…A lazy Sunday. Not anything special except Asheville, good friends, good food and an extended stay in the hot tub trying to solve the world’s problems.
26 Oct…A lazy day including multiple soaks in the hot tub solving the worlds troubles. Talk of a compound.
27 Oct…Rain, cold, flooding. A perfect day to go on a Brew Run in Asheville. We loved French Broad Brewery.
28 Oct…A great lazy day that was finished with an early anniversary dinner celebrating 10 years.
29 Oct…We don’t really want to leave the Charmed Cottage on the mountain.

1stAnnual Shimao Girls Reunion
Glenda, Marilyn, Laurie and Diane met in Shanghai Chinain 2006 where we all lived in a beautiful apartment complex on the Huang Pu River in Pudong. We braved the trip up the mountain ~ only to have to go back to Food Lion to get supplies and so we wouldn’t have to leave again until Sunday AM. We then played mahjong on the game table and just enjoyed being together.

I just wanted to send you a note about our visit to the cottage. It really is a great little place. It is perfectly furnished and we have never stayed anywhere with a better equipped kitchen. We LOVED that part. There were many little things that we would say, “Hey, I wonder where she got that!” The beds were so comfortable, so was all the other furniture. Those leather chairs are amazing. The robes were a very nice treat to have. We work in interior design and remodeling, so we notice everything. And I must say it would have been TORTURE to get snowed in at one of those cheesy cabins with all the quilts, ruffles and bears! So thanks for caring so much about the details. It snowed on our first night just a little. We were in the hot tub when it started. It was very enchanting. We stayed put at the cottage until Thursday evening when my brother and his wife and baby arrived. That evening we went into town and enjoyed an amazing meal at Cucina 24. Have you eaten there? Thanks again for your great taste and hospitality. I have sent you an e-mail with a link to an online photo album with nearly 90 pictures we took. You are welcome to use them as you wish. I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful time we had at your charming cottage. It was perfect for the weekend and all of my girlfriends are planning our next stay there! We also loved the decor & ambiance the cottage possesses–it was great energy! The weather was amazing ~ almost 70 degrees! We spent the majority of Saturday on the deck sun-bathing, doing some yoga and gossiping. It was delightful as was our sits in the hot tub. We even hiked up to the adjoining farm and met the local cow farmer. Thanks again for sharing your cottage with us! I’d recommend it to anyone.
